Album Notes
Sometimes It Takes A Woman To Touch The Soul Of A Man.

On his debut album, singer/songwriter and producer Mr Boyd reexamines faith and love through his relationships with women. Mr Boyd wrote and produced the entire album, playing all guitars and many other musical instruments himself. He also enlisted the help of several established and up-and-coming musicians and vocalists from the New York music scene. Listen closely and you’ll hear the musical influences of Prince, Sting, Portishead, The Beatles, Lauryn Hill, Marvin Gaye, Sade, Bob Marley, Quincy Jones, Kanye West, Kirk Franklin and Outkast come through in his own unique sound. “I really wanted the production of the album to look into the future while carrying the varying textures and moods that have influenced me and so many others over the past 20 years,” he says, “I also wanted it to feel like life today. Part computerized, and part organic; Part dramatic and part comical; with spiritual and political underpinnings at every turn.”
