ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Mr. Dorgon (saxophone) and Laura Cromwell (drums) have been performing together for years, starting in the NYC art-rock band Dim Sum Clip Job, which had a record ("Harmolodic Jeopardy") released on John Zorn's Avant label.
Mr. Dorgon has released several other records, many featuring Laura Cromwell on the drums, on his own "Jumbo" record label. Laura Cromwell has released another record of her own music ("The Vivian Sisters"), featuring Mr. Dorgon on selected tracks, on the Avant label.
"Providence" is a record of the last time they performed live together as a duo. It's an intense blast of music, untempered by considerations of genre boundaries or protocol.
