Draggin' Me Under* Mr. Green

This cd is a great one to add to your "why don't these guys have a record deal"? category. The songs are well written melodic hard rock tunes that you don't get tired of listening to. I wish there were more than 8 songs on the disc, but maybe if we're lucky there will be a second album. The lead guitarist Dave Saker is a tastefully melodic shredder and paired with the incredibly powerful yet bluesy and soulful vocals of Jason Brauner, you end up with a chemistry that is true and original. The vocalist definately did his homework and studied some of the greats like Steve Marriot, Paul Rodgers, Rod Stewert, and Chris Robinson......I can't wait to hear more!

From the San Francisco bay area Mr. Green shows up and give us some convincing music. Mr. Green consists of five veteran rockers from the bay area music scene and they have toured, recorded, collaborated and shared the stage with The Black Crowes, Y&T and many more. For me this is the first big surprise of 2006 in the hard rock field and I have almost been dried out from being without any new catchy hard rock bands. (where are they hiding ?). Mr. Green starts of with the powerful and muscle made song ”Another Place, Another Time” and it has got the same go in the guitars as the mighty TNT use to have, but it all changes into some nice Firehouse tunes after a minute or so (Firehouse´s middle-era). The whole band is a fresh breath of catchy melodic hard rock songs. I love it! These guys have the energy and the melodies that Firehouse once had, but lost along the way. On this eight track EP, there isn't any filler at all and I hope they have a record deal on their neck very soon. This is to good to be wasted. It's always nice to have a big smile after listening to an album. Mr. Green is not just another cool band name, the songs are even cooler and do yourself a favour and have a look at their homepage www.rockthenation.com to see where you can get a copy of this melodic hard rock surprise. I simply can't get enough of Mr. Green... 85/100
