Mr. Kobayashi (a.k.a. Kobe Kane) follows up his Melt the Mic mixtape compilation with a blazing volume 2 entitled, "From the Streets, To the Booth". Kobayashi silenced critics with this cd provide 21 tracks of intoxicating, breath-taking creativity. Unlike volume one, Mr. Kobayashi made it a point to feature on all 21 tracks demonstrating his versatility and song writing abilities. He takes you from commercial and club songs, to street anthems, to hip hop ciphers and life tracks. Even though the mixtape contains a lot of variety, the songs are carefully arranged for completeness and at it’s conclusion, you are left with a sigh of satisfaction.
The Intro alone is hard-hitting and captivating enough to make you want to hear more. The overall sound of the mixtape is professional, clear, and most importantly (unlike most mixtapes), 100% original. Kobe put together a masterpiece of artwork for the fans of hip hop music and culture. Throughout the album, Kobayashi showcases his talent as a songwriter, lyricist, storyteller, emcee battler, punch line artist, and poet.
I can humbly say that no matter what genre of hip hop music you are used to listening to, you will be thoroughly impressed by this mixtape. This will exceed your expectations. Please purchase and Enjoy. Solo album, “Probably 3rd” coming soon.
