Album Notes

Mr M and The All Nighters are a Vancouver, BC based Northern Soul Tribute band. Their philosophy is based on the British Northern Soul tradition of a foot stomping beat together with lots of dancing.

The band is a dynamic tribute to the classic era of soul from 1962-1972. Expect to hear musical tributes to Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Etta James, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Gloria Jones, Curtis Mayfield and many more. Mr M. also like to combine popular soul with rare soul, so you will also hear rare performances of Pat Powdrill's stomper "Do It", Mary Loves "Lay this Burden Down" and a rockin' version of Willie Mitchell's "That Driving Beat". Mr M also features classic instrumental soul including "Green Onions" and "Last Night".

The band continues to play locations around Vancouver. In the last two years they have headlined at the Canada Day Celebrations in North Vancouver, Railway, The Fairview and shared billing at the Lamplighter, ANZA and WISE Clubs The band also like to get to smaller intimate settings at Cafe Deux Soleils and The Purple Crab on a regular basis. Mr M and The All Nighters are looking to expand geographically and look forward to taking classic Northern Soul to the masses of North America and eventually back to the UK and Europe Their goal is to one day record a classic soul album at Willie Mitchell's Royal Studio in Memphis, TN.

This CD features a dynamic line up including a full horn section guitar bass keyboards and drums and guest vocalist. The CD was recorded in North Vancouver, July 1st at Waterfront Park with an estimated attendance of 18,000.
