Album Notes

Mr. STONEking is a group of seasoned musicians and performer taking on cover tunes with a new blend of unique interpretation and composition.

Says front person, Mr. STONEking, himself:
"Most of my musical influence comes from veteran women rockers, like Heart. Growing up I was always digging female voices, Martha Davis of The Motels, Donna Summer, Grace Slick, and Blondie's Deborah Harry.
"The guys I enjoy and derive most from include Ultravox, Icehouse, Soft Cell's Marc Almond, and Holly Johnson of Frankie Goes To Hollywood. Every one who has heard the demo says I sound like Bowie. It's not intentional, and certainly appreciated.
"My taste overall is quite diverse. I miss the golden days of music when everything was played, and if you didn't like what was on, you knew that eventually something would be coming up to get you back into the groove. There's way too much categorizing now, and the common grounds everyone once shared is lost. Our show is a trip along the path of inclusion, with tunes you will definitely recognize, but in a completely different perspective to keep things alive!"
