Michael Shane's first record was originally released without much fanfare. Then a DJ in Abilene, Texas picked up the song "Cowgirls From Outer Space" and the song became a local sensation. Word got around and numerous Texas radio stations picked up the song and the record took off.
Soon after, the song "Sons of San Antone" was adopted by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas as their official Alamo anthem.
Produced by legendary steel guitar wizard/producer Lloyd Maines(Joe Ely, Maines Brothers, Dixie Chicks, Pat Green, Cory Morrow), this CD has a decidedly swing/honky-tonk feel - a bit less edgy than Michael's current release.
The album has recently began turning up on radio again and tracks from this record have appeared on numerous TV shows including Sex and the City, White House Pets, Animal Planet, the Fabulous Life of Country Superstars and the Texas Roller Girls documentaries, just to name a few.
