DR. THERMAN EVANS AND THE MORNING STAR COMMUNITY
TABERNACLE CHOIR RELEASE THEIR DEBUT CD PROJECT:
"IN THE HOUSE"
All proceeds to be donated to Morning Star Plaza
(Linden, NJ - December 15, 2002) Morning Star Plaza takes a giant step toward realization with the release of the Morning Star Community Tabernacle Choir's CD, "In the House". Dr. Therman Evans, Pastor of Morning Star Community Tabernacle, along with Terry Fuller, Minister of Music, and Diane Evans-Pope, Associate Minister of Music, are just a few of the many voices featured on the choir's debut CD. The contemporary gospel CD features thought provoking and spiritually uplifting songs that appeal to all ages. Fuller and Evans-Pope wrote, produced and arranged all of the songs on the album and sang lead vocals on a number of the tracks.
"Our goal in writing these songs is to express how awesome God's grace and mercy is in ways that we can all relate to," says Evans-Pope.
Kim Fuller, Kelly Elam, Felicia Mitchell, Portia LeGall and Isiah Johnson are also featured vocalists on the project. Fuller grabs listeners right away with her soulful style on the title track, "In the House", while Mitchell's "Thank You" showcases her smooth vocals and mesmerizing sound. Elam sings from the heart in "Holding On" and LeGall powerfully expresses herself on "Didn't Know". Johnson contributes his melodious soprano voice on the tune, "Let Him In". "Nothing Without You" features Kim Fuller and a rap by James Williams, who also wrote "Miracle Worker". The expert musicianship of Mark Greene on lead and bass guitar is an outstanding complement to the keyboard genius of Terry Fuller.
Morning Star Community Tabernacle has embarked on a focused campaign to redevelop a community in need of healing in Linden, New Jersey. Morning Star Plaza, as it will be named, is the vision for a 2-block square area located in the heart of the city. The redevelopment plans include establishing several small businesses; a wellness center addressing fitness, nutrition, HIV/AIDS and drug rehabilitation; an employment training institute emphasizing enhanced computer literacy plus basic work and management skills; and a private school. The Plaza will create jobs, provide employment, establish ownership, implement training and bring health and healing of the spirit, mind and body. All proceeds from "In The House" will go towards the development of Morning Star Plaza.
