About the band:
Ms. Led is headed by singer/songwriter/guitarist, Lesli Wood (aka Roxy), along with bassist, Matt Menovcik (aka Clark), guitarist Peg Wood (aka Violet) and drummer, Steph Hasselman (aka Bootsy). Ms. Led has become known for their infectious riffs, melodies and hooks that draw you in. Their music contains equal parts crunchy power-pop and punk rock energy.

With a decidedly feminist message, Ms. Led has been referred to as a "must-see live show" opening up for such acts as Imperial Teen, The Butchies, Vendetta Red, Visqueen, and The Thermals. Their performances deliver the energy and raw emotion Ms. Led's audience has come to expect, sparking notable excitement from fans and press alike. The band continues to tour extensively, as well as playing such prestigious festivals as the Bumbershoot Festival, Ladyfest, and the Capitol Hill Block Party.

Ms. Led's 2002 album, "Afternoon in Central Park" features tracks mixed by Kramer (Urge Overkill, Low, Galaxie 500) and songs made popular by Ms. Led's energetic live performances. "Afternoon in Central Park" garnered rave reviews nationwide - hailed as "an addictive listen from start to finish". (Devil in the Woods). The album was voted one of the Top 90.3 Albums of 2002 by KEXP listeners and continues to receive regular airplay nationwide.

Ms. Led's highly anticipated new album, "These Things We Say", was produced by Martin Feveyear (Mudhoney, Queens of the Stone Age). "These Things We Say" provides an eclectic mix of Ms. Led's styles while maintaining their distinct high-energy, political edge - proving that Ms. Led is ready to take their revolution to the next level.

raucous, danceable, soul-punk rock, empowering bliss

"Ms. Led turn out a raucous, danceable, soul-punk rock, coughing 30 minutes of catchy, rocky, danceable, empowering bliss on their latest release... What make Ms. Led so infectious is equal parts smart lyrics, attitude, and musicianship... "Small Change" is a three-minute wonder of big drums, rolling basslines and a lyrical battle-cry that may just be 2004's anthem. "Keep on the Outside" rivals the best electro-dance tune by Le Tigre. And "It Took Until April" throws those tapping toes into a tailspin; it's Ramones-ish riffs so peppy, Wood's wails so full, how can you not want to take it up a notch and actually dance to the music?"

Seattle's Most Outspoken Band
author: Tizzy Asher, Seattle Post-Intelligencer

"Noted producer Martin Feveyear lends suitable grit to the guitars, while vocalist Lesli Wood (also known as Roxy) swings between Corin Tucker and the keynote speaker at a political rally."

Good time had by all
author: Pitchfork Media

"The band goes for the ultra-quiet Contours breakdown but comes roaring back for one last hurrah, guitars wailing, drums falling about, and a generally good time had by all."
