Album Notes

The new acoustic album by singer/songwriter Mark Smilor, was recorded as a demo session between the Wanderlust recordings. Filled with songs of heartbreak, tragedy, and travels of America, drifters, and coming of age. These songs wear ones emotions on their sleeve."These were just songs that were never supposed to leave my living room. They are overglorified outtakes that in the end seemed to work out well". Mark Smilor has written music for over 18 years and has a broad sound of Folk,Americana, and Rock. His influences range from Bob Dylan,Robert Earl Keen,Ryan Adams, and Lucinda Williams.
With The Ugly Naked Truth he transcends his sound with more of a non-traditional folk style.Lack of overproduction gives this album a more personal feel.
