Album Notes

Michael Snow was born on November 15, 1958 in Hammond, Indiana to Chester and Mary Sue Snow as the youngest of three children. His Christian rearing began as a young child when he attended a Baptist church with his family in Indiana. His musical training began when he learned to play drums while in the fourth grade.
When Michael was twelve years old his father moved the family back to his native state of Arkansas. They settled in Pocahontas, Arkansas where Michael attended school. The little Baptist Mission that Michael and his family attended found itself without a musician. The pastor asked the church to pray for the Lord to send them someone who could play for the worship services. Mike's father, Chester taught him all he knew on the guitar, the chords G, C, and D. As is typical of the Lord, He multiplied these three small chords as he gifted Mike with the ability to play the guitar. Within two weeks he led the congregation in an admittedly shaky rendition of Amazing Grace.
Through out his high school years Mike continued to yield himself to the gift of playing the guitar in church. He also ventured out with a little rock and roll band. Eventually he was asked to play in a gospel quartet. He accepted and his knowledge of playing instruments increased to include banjo, mandolin and piano.
By age 21 Michael had become quite an accomplished musician and played regularly at Dogpatch, a well known theme park in Harrison, Arkansas. The star show of the park was the country music show in which Mike played. Like many other young men, Mike entertained dreams of making it big in the world of music. He forgot his Christian roots, his gifting from the Lord and the reason for which the gift was given.
A sovereign moving of the Holy Spirit at age 27 brought Michael face to face with the one who had gifted him. He immediately found it necessary to give himself once again to the calling of praise and worship. The Lord began to place the ability to dig deep within and to write songs inspired by the Word of God. These songs he began to share with his local fellowship. As he was faithful to share what the Lord had given the Lord was faithful to cause new songs to spring forth like a well.
These beautiful new songs were shared as Mike traveled around the states with his brother Garry, a minister. Requests were made by these various congregations for Mike to record these Spirit inspired songs. So this first CD, I Will Restore, is a compilation of songs specifically requested by members of the churches he has visited. It is our prayer that these songs and others following be a blessing to you.
