Album Notes

Transition is performing songwriter Mark Spangler’s 2008 release and it is a project that will entertain and inspire. These eleven original songs are crafted with an eclectic musical approach that includes both acoustic and electric instrumentation. Spangler’s songs take you on a journey that explores life’s many trials, triumphs and joys. The lyrics are thoughtful and introspective and yet are not afraid to exploit the struggles, absurdities and spiritual truths of the human experience.
When listening to Transition you will find yourself relating to the theme of “change” while enjoying the grooves that the band puts down. The music has an acoustic foundation and utilizes a blend of rocking electric guitars as well as a splash of Appalachian instruments.
Spangler’s own musical influences find a fluid blend in his songs. He will offer you a ballad that disarms you and then hit you with a rocking tune that will cause you to move your feet, smile and crank up the volume. The seasoned musicians and the production of this CD combine to create a unique atmosphere. Transition is one of those records that will leave you, the listener, feeling like you have a new group of friends that you can’t wait to hear from again.
Is it folk, rock, or blues? Is it Americana, sacred or secular? You be the judge. Give it a listen and you will hear the authenticity of a performing songwriter that is relevant in both his lyrics and his music.

The song writing on this project is way above most of what we hear today. Good, very good.
