The Matthew Stubbs Band is a five piece? no, six piece? no, wait? sometimes seven piece band that delivers traditional and original blues with a sassy approach and a big horn sound. Fronted by the dynamic pairing of guitarist Matthew Stubbs and vocalist Kit Holliday, this band hits hard and is dedicated to making good music while entertaining the heck out of its live audiences.

Formed in 2002, the band has developed a wide network of friends and fans, and winning the 2003 Boston Blues Challenge and placing third in the Memphis-held International Blues Challenge has helped solidify the Matthew Stubbs Band as one of the premier rhythm and blues acts on the New England scene.

I was a friend of Kit's during high school and when I heard that she had a CD out, it was a no-brainer to go and get it. The CD has some great quality blues and jazz - I hope that they put together another CD because they really have a great sound!! I can see why they have won the awards that they have!!
