Album Notes

King muDDfish is the hot blues quartet on the scene quickly gaining recognition as one of the South’s most unique and entertaining blues bands.

Based in Florida, USA, guitarists Mike Edwards and Dan Newman have been a musical team since 1969 and have forged their years of experience into King muDDfish. Dan lays down lead guitar that intertwines with Mike’s vocals, slide guitar, and harmonica. Together with genre-spanning percussionist Jerry Crepeau (who joined the team in 1973) and bassist Joel Kobelin, they throw down a wall of tight, dynamic grooves.

With the release of “Hook Water Wolf” in 2004, King muDDfish served up their unique flavor of classic blues recipes. King muDDfish chose to celebrate the work of John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, and Howlin’ Wolf by recording their favorite Hook, Water, and Wolf tunes thereby earning the CD a nomination in the Blues Foundation IBC “Best Self-Produced Blues CD of the Year”.

The newest CD “No Cover” (Jan 2006) features all original blues tunes by King muDDfish and establishes the group as a distinctive and genuine band. It shows that King muDDfish is like nothing else out there. Great original tunes, instrumental mastery, a simple mixture of bravado with a touch of self-deprecating humor balance “No Cover” in a way that will prove King muDDfish to be the champions of a new eclectic blues movement.
