Album Notes

For “Body Sweat”, the first single taken from their debut album – “Flight Night” – Muddyloop take us back to the cassette deck generation. The self-proclaimed “love machines on drum machines” combine Moog basslines, hip shaking MPC drums and stuttering 80’s synths to create the perfect hot groove for Judi Nicholas’ soulful vocals. The B-Side, “Future Romance”, is a grittier slice of electronic soul telling the tale of eternal love lost. Featuring the beautiful vocals of Stevie Starr over drums that were snatched straight off of the Sign O’ The Times album and then choked with compression, minor piano chords and jangley guitars. This is MUDDYLOOP in soul-searching mood.

MUDDYLOOP is Blonde Peterson and Metro Williams: production duo, song-writers and sex symbols. Yes, sex symbols.

Blonde and Metro landed on this Earth to bring to you their endearing mash-up of electronic soul and groove: pseudo-pop with synthesized instrumentation and featured vocalists.

Inspired by, and fusing influences as diverse as Prince, Midnight Star, Bronski Beat and Grandmaster Flash, MUDDYLOOP bring a different sound to the table: horny pop, electro sex, and future funk.

The MUDDYLOOP sound is built upon imaginative song writing, old school production techniques and sounds, and, most importantly, their quirky characters. In essence, MUDDYLOOP is the king-size bed where these memorable synth leads, drum machine hits, weirdo lyrics and sexualised vocals reach their fantastic climax.

Formed in 1999 to record their weird and abstract beats to play on their car stereos and impress females, MUDDYLOOP have gone on to write and record music for cool, reputable labels such as Chez Music and Dessous Recordings. In March 2007, their first EP – The Love Rider EP – will be released on Symphonic Records.

MUDDYLOOP are now wrapping up production on their first full-length studio album – “Flight Night” - 11 hot tracks of genre-bending songs to break hearts, spread legs and shake booties. If all goes to plan, the album should propel MUDDYLOOP to major stardom, making them the new darlings of the music industry!
