Album Notes

Mudfork Blues is Chicago Electric Style Blues at its best. If you like mesmerizing vocals, riffy guitar work, lighting keys, solid bass foundations, kickin' bass drum and happy harps, Mudfork Blues is a show not to miss. The quintessential blues band, Mudfork Blues has shared the stage with the likes of Joe Bonamassa, Lil' Ed and the Blues Imperials, Johnny Rawls, and Tommy Castro to name a few. Mudfork Blues originated on Mudfork Creek in Meigs County, OH and they've since grown into one of Ohio's finest blues ensembles. With a long list of originals as well as many of your favorites from the likes of Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Koko Taylor and others, Mudfork Blues has something for even the most discerning blues critic. Check out the dirt on Mudfork as well as dates of upcoming shows and clips from their recently released CD (Drivin' On Home) at www.mudforkblues.com.

Jared Sheets (Vocals/Guitar) - Mudfork's front man and self appointed band leader resides currently in Athens, OH with his wife Laura, daughter Cara, and son James. Jared is a practicing internist and pediatrician who believes nothing heals quite like "The Blues".

Laura Sheets (Lead vocals) - Laura handles a good portion of Mudfork's vocals as well as most of the booking and promotion for the band. A better husband and wife frontline is not to be found in a blues band anywhere. To contact Laura regarding bookings email to laura@mudforkblues.com

Jenny Sheets (Piano/Nord Organ) - Jenny is the "Queen of the Keys" in Mudfork's Royal Family of Blues. Having played extensively in the past with various church, university, and local theatre groups, Jenny now gigs full time with Mudfork. Jenny is in a league of her own when it comes to mastery of blues piano. Jenny, a local Pomeroy attorney by day, lives on Mudfork Creek with her husband Jim.

Adam Sheets (Harmonica/Guitar/Vocals) - Adam, Jared's brother and of course Jenny's other son, is the "Harp Hurricane" of Mudfork. His lawyer bit is just a part-time gig for this harmonica virtuoso. This "King of the Blues Harp" is also currently building custom guitars as well as gigging with his Columbus band The Free Beer and Chicken Coalition.

John Lohse (Bass Guitar) - John, Jenny's brother and naturally Jared & Adam's uncle, was in his previous life a mild mannered computer engineer with Lucent Technologies in Columbus, OH. Now he's the "Baron of the Bass Guitar" in Mudfork's Royal Family of Blues. John, also originally from Pomeroy, OH, has recently relocated back to Meigs County having just completed a new house right down the road from Mudfork Creek.

Tim Rice (Drums) - Tim "The Duke of Pearl" Rice brings a host of musical talent to Mudfork. With a background in vocals, guitar, as well as drums, the Duke has really beefed up Mudfork's bottom line. Tim lives in Belpre, OH with his wife Robyn and their two young daughters.

Not your average blues band

This was a great find, thanks CD Baby. I nejoyed this cd from start to finish. All the musicians are great, but the vocalist and harp player make this cd. Glimpses of Junior Wells add just the right touches to the well crafted tunes on this disc. One of my friends who is a VERY picky person when it comes to blues wouldn't give it back after I lent it to him to listen to.
