Following up their very successful 2004 Studio CD Drivin' On Home, Mudfork Blues announces the release of their River Cities Live Album. Recorded live on location in the Ohio river cities of Parkersburg, WV; Marietta, OH and Pomeroy, OH; River Cities Live captures the energy of Mudfork Blues that before could only be experienced at one of their shows.
Completion of this album took nearly a year with hours of recordings in nearly a dozen locations paired down to the final 14 selections. The albums 14 tracks were all recorded direct to digital with only final equalization and mastering added to give a uniform finish to the entire project. No over-dubs, No punch-ins, just crisp and clean electric blues at its best....Live.
If you like mesmerizing vocals, riffy guitar work, lighting keys, solid bass foundations, kickin' bass drum and happy harps, River Cities Live is the disc for you.
The quintessential blues band, Mudfork Blues has shared the stage with the likes of Joe Bonamassa, Lil' Ed and the Blues Imperials, Johnny Rawls, and Tommy Castro to name a few. Now you can take a Mudfork show to your home with the release of River Cities Live.

It doesn't get much better

As with Drivin on Home, excellent musicianship combined with awesome vocals. Completely enjoyable disc to be played many times over. If I had one complaint it's that the crowd seems to have been attentuated a bit so you don't get the whole live crowd around you feeling. That aside, their intensity makes up for it. This disc makes me want to move closr to Mudfork home base so I can go to some shows! Keep it up. Excellent.

A masterwork from some true blues players
author: Drumr
I give this CD a 5 because it blows away their studio recordings. It used to be that live records seemed to be a gimmick to make some extra money from bands that had nothing else to say, and usually they sounded bad. But this one is really on fire! You can feel the electricity and passion that just isn't captured in the studio. After hearing this, I'd say all CDs should be live. This is Mudfork's best.
