"Face down those dreams, look them in the eye, you're standing at the crossroads, it's time to do or die, when you run into a roadblock, go around, when you come up against a wall...Knock It Down." White Wall breaks through the genre barriers...not quite pop, too complicated for country, think folk music come of age.
Look for meaning in everything and it's amazing what you find. "Life is a long list of lessons to learn, sometimes we crash and burn, but you'll never know just where you can go, until you try"-from 'Slide On Down'.
Each song is taken out of life experiences. It is way easy to disconnect in a relationship so time stopped and a new song was born when a friend said "You know Tami, Love Is A Verb". 'That's My Man' is straight out of the family room. 'Jackson'... the product of a conversation with a hairdresser who tutors dyslexic adults. 'Hey Girl' was a blast from childhood..."never be anything but what you are".
As for love, there is a 'Magic and Mystery' when two people find each other. And what a blessing it is to be able to share a lifetime together and paint your 'Masterpiece'.
And to those who have been blessed with little feet running around the house, get out the hanky for "You Are Loved'.
Enjoy. Thanks for checking out the music.
P.S. White Wall, the song, started after reading about an art showing of famous white paintings. The viewer thought they were over rated until she saw them another day in different light. The subtle colors came out. I think we could all use a bit of slowing down to appreciate the subtle colors in each other.
Oh yes...one more thing. Kids Rock! While completing White Wall, I started volunteering at a local grade school to fulfill a mini-dream of songwriting with kids. The results- hear for yourself. Kids Rock!!! Children's Librarians Review- Lead parents and teachers to this CD: It's one they can listen too even when the kids aren't in the car.
