Album Notes

Karen Mullally is singer/songwriter and guitarist whose unique blend of folk, pop/rock, blues, and country is influenced by the art of Melissa Etheridge, Indigo Girls, Joan Baez, Bob Dylan and Bonnie Raitt. The songs on this CD, "First Impressions" masterfully combine these musical styles with interesting and cleverly crafted lyrics about love and life.

This is Karen's first CD and what a talented singer/songwriter she is. Karen is from southern California but the San Francisco Bay Area is lucky to have her now. This CD provides vocal and instrumental listening that is a treat. I especially like the songs "Would You Love Me Even If I Was A Star and "The Stranger." Karen writes lyrics that are beyond her years. If you want to be treated to some great singing and playing, buy this CD and you won't be disappointed.

I first heard this voice in 1971 and it is as clear and sweet now as it was then. The guitar work was always exceptional. Karen has a voice that can cut right thru you, you feel what she wants you to feel. The songs range from witty and fun to heart-breakingly poignant. I have so missed this voice!

This cd is chock full of catchy pop tunes, ballads, and rockers. Karen has a powerful voice, which sounds great tackling any number of genres from the blues rock of the opening tune, to the Bread-like ballad 'mother's day song'. Top notch
