Album Notes

Shoalhaven

Calm, happy, involving

New music inspired by nature sounds; recorded at a special Australian place ..

'Shoalhaven' is laid out as a 'trip', a walk through a rain forest, around rock escarpments, into hidden magic places and open cow paddocks, around the old 'bundanon' homestead, close to night-time dams ..

Pieces may be as 'simple' as a special bird song, they may be instrumental 'responses' to the sounds, or they may be combinations of both

Whilst some of the sounds and music you will hear may be unfamiliar, don't worry, this is music made for enjoying, for relating better to nature's world with ..

It's inspiration is nature's music, and is always available

There are many wonderful bird calls to be heard here; parrots, cockatoos, whip bird, wrens, magpies, kookaburras, butcher bird and bower bird

Thunderstorms, night frogs, evening cricket 'environments'; nature's music - with a touch of musical emphasis ..

From Mike, music reviewer ..
''sounds fascinate PM, especially the sounds of australian bush animals and birds. For 35 years he has been recording them meticulously, adding his own subtle musical colours, and creating sound pictures that soothe harried human urbanites'

And from John, about 'Shoalhaven' ..
'I think .. you have the capacity to hear the "important" things. The "real world" and simplicity around us is what you hear.
Certainly they are the things that I relate to'
