Although "Honey, grab your coat!" is The Mung Brothers' first official release, Rich Gantner and Dan Palladino have been recording music together since 1985.

Hailing from opposite ends of the musical world, the lads quickly found common ground through a shared love of silly, clever lyrics, big vocals and melodies that won't get out of your brain. They also discovered that Mung could be seasoned with classic rock, country, R&B and latin flavors and it would still taste like pop music. What would happen if Bob Dylan, The Eagles and Aerosmith got together at Brian Wilson's house for a drunken jam session? That's a recipe for some tasty Mung, my friends.

"Honey, grab your coat!" contains eleven songs that span the entire history of The Mung Brothers. Some will make you think, some will make you laugh, but they will all have you singing along and driving an extra mile or two to keep the fun vibe going.

Refreshing and relaxing!

Very relaxing and enjoyable to listen to. If anyone is in a grumpy mood, these tunes will surely get them out of it quickly. Real smooth!  Performances all around are great, excellent arrangements.  Favorite tracks:  "Make Time For You" and "Como Se Llama".  Made my day!

I discovered these guys by accident and what a great find! This is a FUN CD. If I'm ever in a grouchy mood, I put Honey, grab your coat on and it really picks me up. Every tune is a winner and Tiny is funny as hell. I love it.

Finally, some good music!

Honey, hold onto your hat - it's going to be a wild ride!  One happening song after another that won’t disappoint.  These are melodies that stay with you and keep your spirits up.  Solid guitar work and killing vocals that keep it all together.  The lyrics are sharp - the Mungs keep their tongues firmly wedged in their cheeks on every track, making you chuckle as yet another really great line jumps out at you.  Donald Fagan would definitely approve.  

If you love great music and are in the mood for a fun trip, the Mung Brothers’ amazing debut CD is just the ticket.

I just keep listening and digging it.

A friend of mine had this CD on in his car.  It was given to him by one of the mung brothers.  At first the music caught my attention.  Then I started listening to the lyrics.  The whole thing is funny and weird.  And then its not.  I just keep listening and digging it.  Really good stuff.
