The nine track album, "Sensual Ambience" inclues the full 18 minute edit of the title track, Sensual Ambience (Paris Movie), and clocks in at over fifty-five minutes of atmospheric and chill electronica.
This limited edition CD also includes the four-track "Electro EP" offering a small taste of the full-length "Electro" album, scheduled for release this fall. (Some mixes and tracks are exclusive to "Sensual Ambience" Limited Edition CD)
Down-tempo beats and seductive dub-like bass lines underscore languid keyboard washes, jazz inflected pianos, sax and atmospheric electronica. Chill-out moods, cinematic soundscapes and warm melodies make up the essence of ‘Sensual Ambience’. Inventive arrangements and unique combinations of sounds create a complex but accessible journey in sound.
‘Sensual Ambience’ opens and closes with ‘Fragment (of a dream)’, instrumental bookends that go from mysterious trip-hop to a more full-blooded electronica. Between those two points are the atmospheric and introspective ‘Quiet Atmosphere’ and ‘Cathedral Interlude’, the darkly sensual ‘Lost In You’ and ‘Sensual Ambience (Paris Movie)’ with the jazz influenced ‘A Night In Paris’, ‘To Whom It May Concern’ and the Enigma-esque ‘Endless Possibilities’.
Included with the first pressings are four bonus tracks, the ‘Electro EP’.
‘Regret’ is the next step from ‘Fragment’ and sets the stage for the less atmospheric and harder electro-pop that comprise the ‘EP’. ‘Murderous’ inhabits a more aggressive sound mixing a modern-day Kraftwerk sound with William Orbit type electronics in a club-friendly mix. ‘Come Out and Play’ is a Daft Punk-esque dance track utilizing a vocoded narrative. Closing out with ‘Modern Age’, a tightly sequenced bassline and a dark mood and a bilistering guitar solo climaxing to an explosive finish.

This is an excellent CD, Just what I was looking for. My husband and I used it to set the mood for our anniversary night. I would recommend this CD anytime you need to relax after a long days work, either at home or while driving.

Best debut in ages!!
author: Chrissy James
I discovered this band a couple of years ago and had heard some of the tracks on Sensual Ambience in their early stages. They fit together beautifully and I was thrilled when it was officially released. The electro EP whetted my appetite for the next release. Some of those tracks are online on the Munich Syndrome website and I've really gotten into Love & Dancing (the extended mix) and Analogue Life. Hopefully the new disc will be out soon! Peace!
