Album Notes

This is Dave Munkhoff’s third solo CD, featuring original guitar driven instrumentals. This is the bluesiest release so far, but there’s always been a strong blues influence in his playing. Some of the music on this CD also has a jazz and funk flavor to it, so this is not a straight three chord blues album. You might call this “blues with a twist”.
Over the years, Dave has played and/or recorded with such popular musicians as Billy Sheehan, Georgie Fame, Barbara Lewis, The Drifters, Thor, Phil "Fang" Volk, Wale, Phil Naro and more. His bands have shared the bill as opening act, sometimes even as the headliner, for Montrose, Ronnie James Dio, Melissa Manchanchester, Canned Heat, Lou Gramm, the Bar-Kays, the Happenings, You can hear Dave's classic hard rock guitar style in the central Florida area. His live performances include some of the great Cream & Hendrix classics, which are obvious vehicles for ripping guitar jams, but there are also quite a few surprises in his song list.
Whether performing on stage or in the studio, Dave Munkhoff's music crosses the boundaries of normal classification. His musical roots are long and varied, which was very evident on his first solo CD, "Mood Swings". Dave’s second CD, entitled "Out Of The Past" had more of a blues and jazz infuence flowing through most of the tracks.
Judging from the great response so far to this CD, getting back to some blues has been the right way to go.
