Album Notes

This is an instrumental Blues album with some Rock and Jazz thrown in. People tell me my style is similar to Gary Moore and Jeff Beck.
“Grab It” Song Descriptions
1. Grab It – (Blues) A rockin’ blues boogie in the tradition of the British bluesmen, such as early Peter Green with John Mayall.
2. Blues Street – (Blues/Jazz) A mix of blues and a little bit of jazz give this song a kind of Steely Dan feel.
3. Touch Of Evil – (Blues Rock) A funked up Bo Diddley heavy groove with crankin’ guitar.
4. Carefree – (Blues/Jazz) Clean guitar over a smooth mellow Jazz progression.
5. Playtime – (Fusion Rock) A jazz rock fusion piece that ends with a heavy wah guitar.
6. Blue Angel – (Blues) A slow blues with a very melodic chord structure, giving the chorus a slow Bolero feel.
7. Ace In The Hole – (Blues) Texas blues with blues harp taking the 1st verse, slide guitar on the 2nd verse and regular guitar for the 3rd verse.
8. Fill ’Er Up – (Blues) Heavy blues with a bluesy slide riff connecting the verses. The bridge features an open tuned slide guitar.
9. Pollyanna – (Blues) Your traditional blues shuffle.
10. Vertigo – (Blues) Bouncy blues featuring ballsy wah wah guitar.

Why isn't this guy nationally know? Just listen to the album! It is phenomenal. The album has a range of blues from the mild and tasty to a couple of edgy blues tunes. Take "Carefree" for instance, as tasty as any of the current great artists. Actually my favorite on the album. Additionally, there are tastes of Memphis style, soulful blues, rough edged and so on. The diversity makes the album far from boring and mundane. Like a fine wine that suggests hints of its contents, I am reminded of so many potential influences that must have brought David to this point.

After listening to this "Master of the Stratocaster"For awhile now,it seems that every disc gets better.I kept thinking"How can he top this"after each effort. The song writing is excellent. The musicianship here is beyond description in this small space .The recording, the double tracking,as well as the production is all top notch.Dave has interwoven each song to the next, with amazing dexterity. How can you write an entire Blues album, and not use the standard 12 bar progression?I will tell you how..one word comes to mind, effortlessly!! Thats how. Harmony guitars,in your face drumming, flowing bass lines, what more can be said?? I know I will be buying this album for gifts at the holiday season..And you? Smokehouse Brown
