ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Guitarist Doug Munro follows up his critically acclaimed 2004 Big Boss Bossa Nova recording with his new Big Boss Bossa Nova 2.0. Doug describes this second addition as "more of a bare bones session...". This sparkling, live to CD recording, features Doug at his best in an intimate trio setting. The personnel featured on the recording, bassist Michael Goetz and drummers Jay Devlin and Jason Anderson, are Doug's working group, who together have logged many years of playing time. The group sound captured on this recording is often lacking in many of today's "superstar bands" which are put together in the studio just to make a recording. Also present here, as always, are the intricate rhythmic riffs and intriguing improvisations that are a hallmark of Doug's playing.
