Album Notes

Jessie Murphy, a frequent Village Voice Choice, combines her love of blues and dynamic pop melodies with her inventive guitar driven grooves. The Voice says, "with a voice like ripping silk...she's somewhere between a photonegative of Jimi Hendrix and Joni Mitchell's scrappy kid sister."

Two of Jessie's songs from her EP "Live at the Funhouse will appear in the film, Last Request, starring Danny Aiello, to be released in February, 2006. In the past year Jessie was dubbed a "winning singer-songwriter" by The New Yorker and featured in an article in the London Guardian on the New York City music scene.

In September 2004, Jessie received an honorable mention for her performance in the MEANY Fest.

This August, Jessie heads to Germany for her first international tour, "From New York with Love". This tour is just in time to support the release of Jessie's new EP, "Room Alone".

The official New York release of "Room Alone" is scheduled for this October, and will be available at jessiemurphy.com, among other places.
