notes
Murry Woods started playing guitar when he was 10 years old when bands like Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix and The Doors dominated the scene. His passion led him to Lubbock, where he received a degree in music from Texas Tech University, while juggling his music in-between.
He played acoustic duo's, toured with top 40 rock bands and then teamed up with Medlow Williams (aka Jr Medlow), singer for the locally-famous Cobras out of Austin. Murry was honored to have the opportunity to open for such greats as Albert Collins, Delbert Mc Clinton, Roomful of Blues, Gatemouth Brown, Firefall and Christopher Cross.
While playing the old original Stubb's BBQ or Fat Dawgs in Lubbock, it was not uncommon to have a wonderful assortment of talent including Joe Ely and Jessie “Guitar” Taylor or Bobby Keys (sax player for the Rolling Stones) joining in for late night jams.
After graduation, Murry moved to Austin, where he has been writing, recording and performing since 1988. He has had the fortune of working with a lot of talented musicians and looks forward to many more years of fun in the business.

Refreshingly original, great guitar work!
author: ladyluvgeorgiaI have followed Murry Woods for years now. I moved from TX a few years ago and was pleased to see a new CD out. Murry has a definite love for his music and guitar. It shows in his creativity and style. If you have never heard his stuff, check it out. You won't be disappointed. He does the best cover of Little Wing I have ever heard! Keep it up, Murry and congrats on the new little one!
