ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Music City Doughboys are a fresh new look at Western Swing and Americana music. From the heart of Nashville, TN, this band of brothers came together with one goal in mind: to unite and bring the people something fresh. Their very first self-titled project is that very thing. It starts off with "Infiddility," a swingin' little instrumental that is reminiscent of an old Texas dance hall. From there, the album goes on a musical journey. Tunes like "Step Aside" and "Let's Get it While the Gettin's Good" bring back the Nashville shuffle in a big way, while "Powder Keg" introduces a new flavor of big band swing. Songs like "Not My Kinda Baby" and "Fickle Woman" give listeners the same heart warming feeling of a Nat King Cole record. The band takes a dramatic turn on "The World is My Prison," when lead singer Billy McClaran sings a haunting refrain that will stop you in your tracks. The tireless efforts of Music City Doughboys' writing and musicianship are reflected in this album. It is the starting line for what promises to be a very musical ride.
