Album Notes

Born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1958, Children’s Recording Artist, songwriter, teacher, and Early Childhood Music Consultant Margie Warner has a unique understanding of what makes kids tick. Margie has been teaching the joy and humor of life through music since 1979. For Pre-K and Special Ed students, she offers her “Music with Margie” preschool curriculum. As “Puppetunes”, she partners with long time friend and arm-rod puppeteer, Maria Otfinoski to bring social development programs to Elementary Schools. She also teaches parent/teacher workshops on transitional, thematic, and multi-sensory techniques for the classroom.

Margie enjoys writing her own story-songs for families, and performing them at schools and libraries. She started Music with Margie Productions in 2005, and has published two CD’s of her own music under that label. Her first CD, “Singin’ Round the Campfire”, had these reviews:
The Hartford Courant: “Delightful”; New Haven Register: “Joyful songs with storytelling lyrics that invite participation”; The Middletown Press: “lively & fun; kids of all ages will enjoy…hilarious!”

Hobbies incorporate both music and charity work together. She is the Chairperson and Co-Founder of The Sound & Spirit Concert Series, bringing International Music locally in order to raise funds for global causes through the United Church of Chester. She is also an alto in their choir. Margie also loves to sing “grown-up” music, so lends her voice to many local charity concerts. She is a team leader for the Shoreline Soup Kitchens, and has been on a Chester “team” since its inception in 1992. She is a proud member of The Connecticut Storytelling Center in New London, CT, and a member of ASCAP as both a songwriter and publisher.

Margie has an "all of us, or none of us" approach to singing, and loves to have
the entire family join in the fun and freedom of expressing ourselves through music. None of the children who sing on the CD have been vocally trained. "If you think you're off key, don't worry, I'll find your note, and then we can just sing louder, and with great enthusiasm!" is something you may hear her say during a live concert. So throw out your inhibitions, and join in the fun!
