Album Notes

Colin's thoughtful words and dynamic music are part of a wave of folk music and media based in the emerging global peace and justice movements.

After his first 7 years in Bellingham, Washington State, he moved with his mother, father, brother, and sister to the Jersey suburbs. He picked up acoustic guitar his first year at Duke, and began writing words and music influenced by musicians like Ben Harper, Dave Mathews, and Ani Difranco.

A semester studying Culture and Development in Bolivia openned his eyes to the other side of power and privilege. After college, Colin moved to Brooklyn, taught for a year at an elementary school in East Harlem, and became inspired by some of the powerful, positive voices of spoken word and hip hop like Mos Def, Sarah Jones, Saul Williams, Alix Olson, and Rah Goddess.

Colin is also a digital video editor and is a media jockey with activefreemedia and Intuition NYC. His most recent collaborative video project, 'quality entertainment,' was selected for the Prospect Heights Film/Video Festival in Brooklyn. Colin works as a web developer for ListenUp.org, a national youth media network.
