Album Notes

Formed in April 1999, features former members from Roadracer / Roadrunner recording artists LAST CRACK and regional bands MAGIC 7 and INNER SANCTUM. Combining hard rock energy and melodic songwriting, Muzzy Luctin has made a deep impact on the Wisconsin music scene. Local radio has fully embraced the band. Madison's top rock station, WJJO, included 'Sugarfly' as the lead song on their 'Rockin' the Midwest 1999' CD, the song 'River' for the 2001' version and the song 'Smile That Big' for the 2002' version. WJJO also regularly plays Muzzy during prime airtime. Other stations that Muzzy has received airplay on are: WIBA (Madison, WI), WMAD (Madison, WI), WLZR (Milwaukee, WI), WLUM (Milwaukee, WI), WQLF (Monroe, WI) and KGRR (Dubuque, IA).

Muzzy Luctin has traveled to New York twice to perform for record label showcases. The band regularly plays the major festival events in the Midwest such as SUMMERFEST (Milwaukee) and TASTE OF MADISON (Madison). Muzzy has also played shows with TANTRIC, 3 DOORS DOWN, RA, PRESENCE, NONPOINT, SLAVES ON DOPE, CLUTCH, MIGHTY SIDESHOW, STIR, HEDDER, KING'S X, THE PIMPS, DUST FOR LIFE, FLAW, 40 BELOW SUMMER, JUDAS PRIEST, BENDER, STAGE, MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE, DEADSY, and CAROLINE'S SPINE. In addition, the band receives attention from radio and magazines in Europe. Muzzy Luctin was featured in the January 2001 issue of Rock Hard Magazine (Germany) and 'Sugarfly' is included on their Unerhort! (Best unsigned bands) CD.

The band's first full-length release 'Symptoms of a Simple Life' was recorded at Sleepless Nights Studios in Madison, WI with guitarist Paul Schluter as engineer and producer. Over two years in the making, this thirteen-song epic has the commercial viability and production quality of a major label release. The CD was released on February 23, 2002. Muzzy played throughout the Midwest in support of 'Symptoms' through summer and fall of 2002.

Currently the band is writing and recording new material for their second CD to be released in Spring 2004. The new single 'Live With Yourself', which is a major step forward for Muzzy Luctin's harder edge, has been well received in advance previews by label reps and media. It will be available on the WJJO "Rockin' the Midwest 2003" CD which will be released November 8th of this year.

With past experience and mature songwriting skills, it is only a matter of time before this band explodes into the national spotlight.

My first experience with Muzzy Luctin was live in Milwaukee at a bar named BBC Club(??) Very high energy group! Ever since that show in 2001 I have been a fan. Great guitar sounds and Paul's style is very original! Tight drums and bass! Haunting vocals that stick in your head well after the music is over!! One of the best independent rock albums to come out of Wisconsin! They need play in Minneapolis/St.Paul!!!

I first fell in love with Paul Schluter\'s guitar style as a driving force behind \"Last Krack\"! When I first heard \"Burning Time\" I was hooked! And now, Hearing his work with \"Muzzy Luctin\" I am still blown the fuck away!! And Ken Thrift\'s Vocals and lyrichs add such an awesome depth to Pauls Style, it\'s hard to put into words. But I mean not to take away from Soderholm or Haefner. In short, The only problem I have with any of their music, is not being able to remove the CD from my deck!!! Translation; You\'d be a fool \"NOT\" to get your hands on \"ANY\" of their stuff!!!
