"In the Groove" is the perfect Spring-into-Summer song that will create memories long after both seasons end. Mycah Chevalier and Brian Christopher have a kind of cool heat (yes, you can have both!) that's certain to elicit sudden kisses at traffic lights and even more in the back seat when the song ends - and the groove continues. Great production, smokin' vocals and a reference to chocolate glow...you need anything else? You better check your pulse "! - Hybrid Jazz From Trish Hennessey (www.blogtalkradio.com/HybridJazzFromTrishHennessey)

Blessed with an irresistible and soulful voice, Mycah’s music is in a class of her own. She has shared the stage with legends such as The Whispers, Patti Labelle, Luther Vandross, and Arturo Sandoval. She studied under Ricky Payton Sr.,Founder of BET’s Urban Nation HIP-HOP Choir & HBO’s City at Peace, & in college, earned music & academic scholarships from Howard University & Mt. Vernon College, where she furthered her vocal studies under the tutelage of Washington Opera’s mezzo-sopranos Linda Allison. Mycah’s vocal & performing talents led to her casting by playwright & choreographer Debbie Allen in the theatric production of Soul Possessed, starring world-renowned recording artists, Patti Labelle, & Arturo Sandoval.
Mycah’s studies in music led her to create musical and vocal arrangements along side partners “The Schoobies”. You may hear their handiwork on Mycah’s debut project, as well as a host of indie projects from gospel to rock!
The next chapter of Mycah’s journey began with the release of her debut CD Roux’s Fantasy, & as lead female vocalist for the group guiltypleasures. Both CDs have taken the US & UK by storm. “Forgiveness,” & “Back N Forth" are still favorites in New York, Philly, Cali., overseas, Capital Jazz Lounge & WHUR World. "Anticipation (The Remix)" (guiltypleasures) has also been in steady rotation on WHUR 96.3FM, home of the Original Quiet Storm since April 2010, & have enjoyed two sold out dates at DC's historic Blues Alley.
In 2012, vocalist and songwriter Mycah Chevalier celebrated the release of her new single and re-make of the Duke Ellington/John Coltrane jazz classic “In A Sentimental Mood”, produced and arranged by incomparable keyboardist Dawoud Said, and it has become a listener favorite and #1 hit on Jazzy Ams with The Court-Man on Baltimore’s premier internet station, www.WPBRadio.com .
The song’s growing popularity prompted the Task Force Marketing and Media Group/WPB Network Films to produce a video for the fast rising hit. The Video, directed by Frank and April Johnson, bears cameo appearances by singer/songwriter and WPB radio host Brian Christopher and Courtny “Court-Man” Young of the Jazzy Ams show. The video is a beautifully shot and classic representation of the song, jazz legacy, and holds true to Ms. Chevalier’s Sultry, Sassy Creole Girl Persona. Within a few days of its release, the video received accolades from sites such as SoulTracks, SoulBounce and video site DMV Jams, to name a few.
Most recently you may catch Mycah singing backgrounds for International Jazz Vocalist Maysa Leak, Grammy Nominated Saxophonist Ski Johnson (is featured on Ski’s newly released CD "Underdogs On Top", which debuted at #6 on the Billboard Charts!!!), and International Saxophonist Ray Gaskins. Mycah is featured on multiple tracks of Gaskin’s latest album “A Time To Love”, which includes a soul-stirring arrangement of the Ivan Lins classic “The Island”.
Ms. Chevalier will also be taking to the stage again this year as “Mycah Chevalier, Blue Note Club Jazz Singer” in the Michael McCorkle Stage Play “All The Man I Need”, which will make its Sophomore run this April at The Atlas Performing Arts Center in Washington, DC.
Mycah is currently working on a new solo album to be released some time in late 2013, and hit single, “In The Groove” featuring friend and fellow artist Brian Christopher is just the first of the treats she has lined up!
So Stay Tuned!! This Creole Songstress has lots more in store in 2013!!!
