Album Notes

My Friend Rachel are Katherine Hieronymus and Martin Newton. They first started making music together in 2004. Katherine was asked to come in and sing some of Martin's songs for a competition on a very very famous radio station in Britain. Those songs did not win. However the experience was a good one for both. Even though their lives were full with many other musical commitments (Katherine was then lead singer in the band 'Hieronymus' and Martin involved in about 32 musical projects as per usual), they thought there was something in what they were creating and over time they have developed more and more songs. Some are theirs. Some aren't. And then, an album started to take shape. ‘A Moment’s Silence’ is a debut album full of eclectic and beautiful songs.
