name and conscious, lyrically uplifting roots reggae is his game. Out of the

Mykal Somer, singer/song writer and producer is known to be an artist with spiritual
beliefs. His music reflects upon the struggles of man, the respect he has for women
as well as the rewards that can be gained spiritually if one believes in a higher
power. From Mykal Somer you can expect to hear powerful words of culture, spiritual
belief, love and lyrics about reality, with a singjay style which is very unique.

Mykal Somer born as Dwayne Somersall on the 9th of September 1976 in Half Way
Tree, St.Kitts. As a youth, Mykal Somer was very determined and self motivated.
He grew up with a strong cultural background enriched with reggae music, which
became Mykal’s only true love.
Mykal’s love for music started around the age of 14 years old. He began listening to
the words of the great Bob Marley, Lucky Dube and other cultural legends, which really
inspired him. As a result Mykal decided to pursue his career as a musician and a
messenjah of The Most High. Mykal Somer’s singing career started at the age of
17, when he performed at a local high school in Basseterre, St. Kitts.
At this time reggae music was at its peak in St. Kitts. After 2 years of performing
locally and getting the support that he wanted, Mykal decided to move to the United
States to further his music career. After several years of hardship and struggle
singer/songwriter and producer, Mykal Somer releases his first album “Element of
Surprise” under SMG Somer Music Group, Inc., which is self-owned.
