This is the first release from the Southern born Singer-songwriter, and it features songs he began writing after moving to the Northwest five years ago. He'd decided to make the move with notions chasing of a girl, but in the end he could not keep her affections. From there, the story is the same as with many a broken heart: After chasing and losing what felt like love, Myles sought to find resolution in his songwriting. However, what set him apart was the realization that his music would become less about this girl, and more about something much bigger.

“Things just got to be really focused on the concept of love on this earth...like, can anyone really love another person unconditionally? Or, can that fairytale romance really happen like it does in the movies? “

While his music would lend the answer, “not usually,” there is a certain sense of hope about Myles' writing and musicality. The album is rich with strong lyrical story telling, a daring vocal approach, and arrangements that are just as strong and engaging as all the other elements. Minus the Girl stands up to be a raw but effective first release from the brooding songwriter.
