Album Notes

Myliye was originally formed in 98' by my brother and I, Donny and Mike Fausner. It really started as the two of us playing on acoustic guitars at coffee houses, etc. Donny would sing and play rythym while Mike would accompany with leads and different voicings. After about a year we found ourselves forming a band. Now, playing drums was Max Hickman, and on the bass was Eric, "Sal" Baker. We recorded our first album at studiowest in San Diego and released it in January of 2000. We had a good enough response to inspire us to continue playing live and recording music, and that's what we did. We lost Eric to the Coast guard, and called on a talented hometown friend Brian Jirka to play bass. Over the course of the next 2 years we toured, and played as many gigs as possible. After playing bars, clubs, festivals, surf contests, and special events over that time songs kept flowing and we figured it was time to start focusing on new material. It was in may of 02' that we decided to get away from San Diego for a bit and move back to our home town, Arnold, CA. to rehearse for a new album. Weeks before leaving we met Ed Wiley who would replace Max on drums and felt pretty confident about our new direction. We spent 3 months up north rehearsing before coming back to San Diego and going into the studio to record our new album, "Through Clouds". As life would have it, many things got in the way and the album was delayed. We ended up finishing the CD but never printed it. We lost Brian to the mountains, and decided to take a bit of time off. After a year and a half the band regrouped with a local friend TJ Roberts on bass and began playing live again. We still never released, "Through Clouds", and by this time had a lot of new songs so we went back in the studio once again to make a new album. Myliye is finally finished with the recording of their second album, "Brain obeys the heart", and our gearing up for new shows and a great year!
