My Lost Cause was formed in the Summer of 2002. The band began as a 3 piece, without any real idea of how things would work out. After a few weeks of practice, Derek, Gene, and Jesse decided to add a permanent bass player. After a little searching, they decided to add Preston, an ex-band-mate and friend of the band. My Lost Cause then began playing shows locally as a 4-piece band and recorded an 8 track debut EP entitled "It Didn't Kill Me" in October of 2002.
In November of 2002, My Lost Cause decided to take things to the next level when they booked and played their first successful west coast tour. The band stopped at spots like Las Vegas and Los Angeles in hopes of building a fan base. In March of 2003, the band headed west again for a more extensive tour that covered much more ground. As of April 2003, My Lost Cause had established themselves in several western cities and were also able to claim two successful west coast tours. With everything going so well, My Lost Cause developed a very positive outlook and an increased interest in the reality of becoming a full time touring band.
With the second tour finished and several months ahead before the next, My Lost Cause was easily able to make a very big decision. The band decided to enlist a close friend of the band, Mike, to play rhythm guitar for the band. This relieved Derek of playing guitar, leaving him to concentrate on vocals and rounding out MLC as a 5 piece band. The move was made to add more energy to the bands live performance and improve the sound of the band.
Also in April of 2003, My Lost Cause was asked to work with The New Beat Records, a local indie label that works with bands from all over the United States. The band is now rehearsing and writing the new material that is to be released on a full length due to come out in Fall/Winter of 2003.
As for right now, My Lost Cause is super happy to be doing what they are doing. Each week the band continues to work towards making their dream of playing music professionally a reality.

This is a fantastic CD! I have been listening to this CD over and over since I got it. My favorite tracks are Dead Ends, Lite-hearted Hatred, and Bitter Anthem. Catchy, fun, high-energy, and fresh all describe this CD. If you are into pop-punk, emo, melodic hardcore, or just plain alt- rock, buy this CD.

`... My Lost Cause is the going to go somewhere. It Didn't Kill Me is in fact my favorite pop-punk/emo album ever. These guys are going to be the best thing to come out of Knoxville, Tennessee...` -- Koury Clark, Knoxville's Seconds After E-zine.
`... It Didn't Kill Me combines raw emotion and beautifully crafted lyrics in just under thirty minutes of genius. Maybe the best emo album yet. Tracks like Distance From You and Dead Ends are truly highlights to lyrical composition overall.. `
