Album Notes

Distributed by Icon/Fontana North/Universal in Canada AND Rounder Europe, after 9 weeks their debut album has just recently charted #14 for the INDIES in NEW MUSIC WEEKLY USA and #28 for their TOP 85 - and is sitting on the top of ROOTS MUSIC REPORT in 3 categories and has charted in the Cancountry Hits at # 48.

MYROL has just been awarded THE BEST SONG in the 2008 CALGARY FOLK FESTIVAL SONGWRITING COMPETITION as well they received FIRST RUNNER UP for THE MIGHTY PEACE which will put them on the Calgary Folk Festival Stage in July.

MYROL is a live-wire - female duo with harmonies that'll cut straight to the hairs on your neck -and lyrics that will take you to the scene of the crime. The girls have an honest alt-country-roots-traditional-country sound which puts them on the guest list for an Americana sound. Joanne & Haley have co-written with the likes of Fred Eaglesmith, and Gord Matthews (Ian Tyson's Trio). They’ve done songwriter workshops with - to name a few – Colin Linden and Corb Lund. They were the featured artist in Lithuania's Country Festival sporting 30,000 people and were named Billy Block's Western Beat Magazine's Group of the Year out of Nashville.

Those who dare to be different are different and MYROL challenges radio and audiences to move forward through their lyrics, harmony and bravado. Being at one of MYROL's shows –whether it’s a festival setting or just an intimate few at a cozy house concert – is like moving your living room into the local neighborhood pub. It’s comfortable. It’s fun. It’s refreshing. It's interesting. It’s witty. There's laughter. People can leave their troubles and Prozac at home for a night of “just let it all go”. Their shows are just simply a night filled with enjoyable music and pumped up good feelings. And to make it even more interesting, they are related.
