Kathleen Sims -My music has taken me around the country to many different cultures and lifestyles. My songs are original and form personal life experiences. I have been writing, singing and playing the guitar for 20 years. My songs have the essence of blues, folk and country.I hope to be a voice for the people around me who are experiencing the ups and downs of daily life.
Diane "Dee Dee" Denby has been writing songs for 15+ years and has, these past few years, found a style of her own she calls Americana.
With 3 recordings on the CD, "Awake" , (the collaboration she produced with Kathleen Sims and The Vermont Women's Music Project) Diane's music is of varied styles and her guitar playing never better.
As a child she loved The Beatles and as a teen she started playing the guitar with folk music influenced by Joni Mitchell , Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and the Grateful Dead. In the early 1980's she moved to Austin, Texas to continue college and fell in love with the blues at "Antones" and the genre of Texas music in general. Upon moving back to NYC in the mid 1980's, Dee Dee spent a year playing on Bleaker Street with Ricky Kirk .The music she now plays is all original .
