The award-winning Juilliard-trained N2K duo of- Fr. Norm Freeman on percussions and Katherine Cash on violin offer their gifts as a way to strengthen communities through music. "We just want to offer blessings through music to everyone," said Freeman, a Grammy Award-winning musician who has performed with the New York Pops, and such musical giants as Barbra Streisand, Jessye Norman, Kathleen Battle, Vanessa Williams, Metallica in concert and numerous Broadway musicals.
He is joined by Katherine Cash for what she calls "Part Praying, Part Playing." Also Juilliard-trained, she has been a professional violinist since age 12. She has worked as an executive specializing in business analysis in the entertainment and financial industries since 1978. She has performed as a concert master of the New York Symphonic Ensemble and with Broadway musicals, Les Miserables, Nicholas NIckleby, Singing in the Rain, Dreamgirls and Fiddler on the Roof.
"Our live music will give you the opportunity to re-set and to open yourself to a source of joy, of healing and of blessings and peace. When we perform, we routinely experience something greater than ourselves," says Cash.
"I felt drawn into your performance on several levels, the musicality and compatibility you both bring, together with the unique combination of violin and vibraphone. You have a passion for life that finds expression in your music, it touches the senses and goes even deeper -- into the soul. Thanks again for being with us." The Very Reverend Michael Mitchell, Rector
St. John’s Anglican Church, Archdeacon of the South Shore Lunenburg, NS, B0J 2C0
"The dynamic duo, Katherine Cash and Norm Freeman bring to concert goers, students and appreciative audiences world wide a compelling story of music making, life's sojourn... with all it's twists and turns and the power of "connection" that can only be portrayed through music. Katherine and Norm are consummate artists with the uncanny ability to communicate these rich subject matters, with expertise, joy and harmony."
Jonathan Haas, NYU Department Chair, performing artist (percussion) and head of Sunset Records, Kettles and Company, and Gemini Music Productions
