Album Notes

Nadia Sohaei was born to the music as classical pianist and mezzo soprano singer. her mother was a concert pianist and her first piano teacher. After her classical carrer she discovered the world of the synthesizer in 1990.
She created soundtracks for movies and music for the soul, as Nadia Sohaei and later under the name of Thai-Essence.

In 1994 she met Trans-X and Neuronium Productions and she starts playing live keyboards in the new remixes of "living on Video" in Barcelona, with Pascal Languirand (trans-X).
In this collaboration, she met Chaly Chicago, who would be crucial for develope the Thai-Essence project, finishing in 2000 her first record "inside" and in 2002 her second record in this project: "this is my life". In this project she developed her talent for orchestration, piano and opera, collaborating with other singers (Nuria Rial, Zhanna, Miki Mori and Claudia Schnieder).

In 2006 she starts her first solo project in electro music under her own name Nadia Sohaei: "Talking to Myself", which in germany made her one of the best unsigned artists.

In 2007 Nik Wejedal became part of the project, with additional voices, co-writing some of the lyrics, visual design and on live keyboards.

In 2008, Nadia Sohaei signs with Decadance Records.

If you like Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode...

This album was recorded especially for you. Fantastic operatic voice of Nadia Sohaei, techno loops, lyrics like: "19th Century - Mechanic Age..."- and you have one of the best synthie-pop albums of the last years. Nadia Sohaei was an opening for me. "Victoria Starship", "19th Century", "Callas Never Dies", title track - are the most impressive on this album. Sometimes music could seem a little bit cold, dark and repetitive, but it's always sincere. Record sounds as sountrack to cyber-steam-punk film. Try also record by Nadia Sohaei in different - relaxing style - "This Is My Life" (it could remind you music by Vangelis). This album was released as album by Nadia (Neuronium Records) or album by Thai-Essence. Verdict: if you are lover of synthie-pop and light electronic music - records by Nadia Sohaei are for you. Just try.
