notes

Charlie's roots in music started when he inked his first record contract with Lava records as a singer/guitarist for Distorted Moon. Through out the years, Charlie has performed in several bands such as Distorted Moon, HeLlBeNt, The Betrayed, BlueV10, Almost Famous, as well as promoting his own solo material and working on new projects along the way.

Charlie is no stranger to the industry and has performed as an artist, worked A&R in New York City, owned a record label, worked in promotions, graphic design, booking, management, and has worn just about any hat that there is a job for in the industry at one point or another.

Charlie is also a Philanthropist who loves to help others. He has participated in One World Beat to help children with AIDS which rocks over 150 concerts globally per year and raised over $250,000.00, he also helped to raise over $140,000.00 for the Cystic Fibrosis foundation with several concert performances, and is always helping fellow artists to find their way in music.

Charlie is currently taking a break from music to gain inspiration and insight for his next release. Those who wish to support Charlie can visit www.charlienaebeck.com to support him in his other ventures.

I like every song on the CD. I find myself humming different ones over the course of the day. Meticulously tracked and very well mixed, as a musician I see the bar has been raised and I've got more work to do. Well done Mr. Penguin.

  • A mix of diverse talent!

I recently heard Charlie's music and he has an awesome talent to blend so many different styles of music together from so many backgrounds! His blend of acoustic guitars and keyboards reminds me of The Cure in a way on some of his songs. I hope to hear more!

I didn't really know what to expect from this album allthough I was familiar with Charlies earlier work. In my ears he have a lot of cards to play so to speak, one tune can be very different from the other. I mean this as a good thing because, simply put, you won't be bored after two or three songs on the album. My favourites are probably Scattered Dreams which has a very cool arrangement and the song Remembering The Moments which have a really great feeling. "Feeling" is probably the keyword when describing the whole album as you really can understand why he plays a song the way he does only by reading the title of it... Now that's feeling for you!

Charlie Naebeck has recorded an utterly tasty collection of relaxing jams. The combination of electric and acoustic guitars, and enticing sounds can put a trance on the listener and send them to other worlds of yonder. For example, “Remembering the Moments” starts off with an eerie sound and then breaks into a smooth jam. Other songs such as “Dream of Stars” hypnotize and bring the warm sounds of spring into fruition.

  • Very original!

I'm impressed with Naebeck's music because his tracks have a unique sound to them, whereas there's usually about 15 CDs in the stores that all sound alike. Runaway and Sunny Day, in particular, both have a nice mellow feel to them.

  • This is Charlie's best work to date. Great melodies mixed with raw emotion.

This cd truly showcases the best of Charlie Naebeck. I am familiar with his entire library of work, but nowhere else does Charlie so eloquently mix all of his different influences while exhibiting the extrordinary maturity required to dish up a full-range of dynamic emotions. "Sunny Day", one of my favorite tracks off of this album, is soothing and yet powerful at the same time. The droning acoustic guitar really adds a nice "bed" that the rest of the parts float above. Another favorite of mine is "Remembering the Moments". The delay on the lead acoustic gives the guitar an almost Cure-style throw-back feel to it but without all of the cheesiness that such a reference might bring to mind. I would suggest that anyone with an itch for awesome mix of acoustic guitar, beats, and good ol' fashioned lead work scratch that itch! And do it with this cd :-) I look forward to this album receiving all of its earned success.
