Album Notes
As the dust settles, and we move forward in time, new-dedicated talents shall come forth to catapult their areas of expertise into the new millenium. One such artist is the topic of our synopsis. His chosen vehicle of audio-matic vibration is the Flute. It's been quite some time since we've seen an artist take the Flute to such astounding heights, as does "Nakayo". There's a myriad of players out there today on Alto, Tenor, and Soprano sax. There are guitarist, keyboards and trumpeters as well all in the foreground just to name a few. There are even some Flautists out there, but none who stand out in the crowd, as does this sensational player. "Nakayo" has stepped forward to be the one to bring the Flute to the foreground once again!

Here is some background information on the man, the musician. "Nakayo" Dupree (Flautist/Percussionist) is a multi-talented musician, born in Washington D.C and raised in the urban metropolis of the South Bronx in New York City. Currently, he is an ATL-ien, residing in the music mecca of the south, Atlanta, Georgia.

"Nakayo", as he prefers to be called, is a self-taught musician. His hard work over the years can be seen and heard in his compelling performances. His diversity as a musician includes instruments such as Flute, Congas and an array of other percussive instruments. He received his professional start in the music industry from Grammy award winning artist/writer/producer, Patrice Rushen. He credits Ms. Rushen as being a musical mentor and friend. "Nakayo" has since gone on to work with such music notables as drummer/producer Ndugu Chancler, recording artist, saxophonist Gerald Albright, recording artist/drummer Terri Lynne Carrington and studio great/guitarist Wah Wah Watson, just to name a few. He's had the opportunity to audition for such artists as Natalie Cole and Sheena Easton and he has worked with writer / actor director Robert Townsend. He made his acting debut in the feature movie "Without You I'm Nothing" starring Sandra Bernhardt, where he played a musician. He also recorded conga and percussion sound tracks for the movie. "Nakayo" has completed a very successful international tour with fonder and front man Speech, from the Grammy award winning group, Arrested Development. Most recently, "Nakayo" has done work with Giant Step recording group Jiva, on their new single remix of Stars, the Tauriva mix. This track sat Europe on fire!!.

And Now Is The Time, for this astonishing musician to step forth in his own right. Yes, he is coming forth with his long overdue solo project. "Nakayo" is for sure, an up coming artist.

Music to live and dream by
Nakayo plays not only to earth and sky, but to the inner dreams of many, and the heart and soul of all! Listen to the CD and you'll be in awe, as I am, each time I hear it again.

More relaxing then valium- I loved it.
I enjoyed the CD so much that i bought 3 more for gifts.
All you need are the candles burning and the table set for the dinner party.

Music of the mind !!!
The music is well composed with great vibes that talk to the spirit. It keeps me moving even when the day is slowing down; not tired of listening to this cd thus, I will always recommend to friends

A great new artist has arrived, top quality matieral
I loved the funky version of the standard, Nature Boy. The blend of the artist with musical arrangments hits the target just right. Jazzy, funky, brings the flute back to the neighborhood and you can tell it came home with a lot of class.

The songs completely touched my heart, I was amazed at how I couldn't figure out which song I loved the best. I can put the entire cd in and not skip over one song. The quality is off the chain, the songs are just awesome. I plan to support anything this artist comes out with, I was blown away...
