Pure relaxation
author: Tom
I began listening to The Smiling Practice several months ago and it has made a significant impact. For nearly the past 10 years I have had health issues that caused a major shift in my life. With that came bitterness, anger, resentment, fear, anxiety, etc. My energy become so blocked that I went from an outgoing, engaging person to a sheltered worry wart, adding to my health problems. Since listening to The Smiling Practice, a dramatic change has taken place. I feel more at peace with myself and others around me. I have a greater sense of self confidence and a much more positive outlook on life. Most importantly, my mental and physical health has improved, as have my relationships. I am also more active now than I have been in years thanks to a major reduction in my anxiety. As my health continues to improve, I find The Smiling Practice to be a valuable asset in all aspects of my life.
The great thing about this program is that you can learn to utilize the techniques without the need for the CD. I much prefer the CD, as it provides me with a sense of relaxation as if I just came from a spa treatment. It relaxes my mind and body, yet at the same time, I feel energized, but in a much more balanced way. I feel "in the zone", similar to how athletes feel when they are free of worry and in a state of mind where they feel as though no challenge is insurmountable. Fears, concerns, worries, etc. that were bothering me disappear when I listen to the CD. Nan Cameron's voice also provides a very peaceful and calming environment. I have listened to many relaxation/meditation CD's and this is by far the best.

Warm, enlivening practice
author: Marty W.
The smiling practice is a form of qi-gong meditation. Unlike the more active forms of qi-gong, such as Tai Chi, this meditation practice is fully reliant on the power of the mind. Nan Cameron provides sweet, lovely guidance throughout and the practice includes beautiful sounds, which are relaxing yet not intrusive. Nan initiates the smile within, starting with the eyes, where every true smile emanates. She then moves from the head to to the neck, and the torso. From there, as you are guided to smile with your heart and lungs, then the major organs, including the liver, kidneys and then the spleen and pancreas. She then directs your awareness to the digestive system, followed by a substantial integration of the practice. This is a wonderful practice, wonderfully led. As for me, every time I do this practice in the morning I can feel myself always more relaxed and happy throughout the day.
