My name is Katy Newell and I am an english actress. I am the reader for the audio book Freeing Samakan by Mike Nance.

I was absolutely delighted when Katy, having read my book, Freeing Samakan - A Fairy Tale From Teignmouth said that she would record the audio book.
Katy with help from her friend David Dempster has done a brilliant job, bringing to life the eleven different characters in the book. I think it will make the story much more real for children. I know Katy does a lot of work with many children encouraging and helping them to achieve their goals now and for their future and I feel privileged to have her find time to make the audio book.
I am fifty years behind the times and have never used a computer so I am amazed at what has been done.
This is a magical fairy tale with real locations in Devon, which is in the South West of England.
Near the end of the story a giant statue appears which may very well come true and would certainly be a major attraction for families with young children.
The seaside resort of Teignmouth is situated in an area of beautiful scenery which includes a large red cliff, a wide tidal estuary and in the distance can be seen the high rocky Tors of Dartmoor. At the mouth of the river there is a sandy point where the fairy tale has its beginning and ending, but always with the possibility of being the source of new fairy tales.
