SmoothJazz.com Review
author: Scott O'Brien
From Dallas, Texas comes a whole lotta funky contemporary jazz, with a liberal dose of R&B and some Latin Jazz, Straight-Ahead and Blues for spice. Put it all together and you’ve got one tasty musical feast for your ears. Linny Nance & Network, and then some, have definitely got it goin’ on with this release… pure energy, soul, and a positive vibe that totally captures that DON’T WORRY BE FUNKY philosophy. Mr. Nance writes, produces, plays keys, and sings on this project, but gives his guests plenty of room to shine. Highlights of this album, and there are many, include Al Olive’s soulful take on Van Morrison’s “Crazy Love,” the sensual slow jam, “Gratitude,” co-written by Linny with Bernard Wright, and some straight-ahead jazz on “4 Walls (swingin’).” I totally dig all the grooves on DON’T WORRY BE FUNKY, the latest offering from Linny Nance & Network. You will too!
