Album Notes

When Nancy Marshall performs she exudes the joy and warmth of a woman who was born to be a musician. Her infectious versatility draws you into the music so you feel its spirit as though you were experiencing it yourself. Whether it is a poignant ballad or an upbeat tune, when listening you can tell Marshall knows what she is singing about. She is a consummate musician who understands her instrument and the jazz genre and wants to pull you into feeling the music with her.

Nancy has played in area jazz venues and in Kansas City and New Orleans. She was a finalist in the national Black Entertainment Television jazz vocals talent search and has received development grants from the Nebraska Arts Council and the LinOma Performance Series.

Nancy says,"Since you have read this far, you deserve to know some of what I think is the straight skinny on this cd. I should have named it "Unintentional Lullabies" because people tell me they like to listen to it when they are going to sleep or relaxing or cooking dinner. I believe it is so relaxing because only very nice people worked on it from rehearsing the tunes to doing the artwork. It just has a sweetness about it and I'm glad. Maybe my next cd will be HOT, but this one is just plain sweet, but with no calories." I hope you will like it, too."

Nancy.... your CD is a delight for me. I play it in my sewing/computer room while I work on various projects. Next I will put it in my VW Bug when I plan an extended trip. But, I have to admit, something is lacking.... could it be your two back-up singers? Linda and Wilma!! Both of us will be in Claremore for the homecoming weekend. I will be staying at the Microtel. Would love a visit from you.... my cell is 702-203-7033... call me! Perhaps the 3 of us can do a bit of harmony for old times sake!!
