Album Notes

The Nancy Simmonds Band was a regular fixture around the El Mocambo in Toronto, Canada in the mid 80's. Consisting of Evelyne Datl on keyboards, Neil Chapman on guitars, Gene Falbo on bass, Randall Coryell on drums and Nancy Simmonds on guitar and keyboards and one great sound guy, Gabor.
The band recorded it's own album with Mark Stafford as producer at Sounds Interchange Studio, Toronto, in 1985 with its own financing. However, at that time there were no Indie Labels, only major labels who always seemed to have filled their quota for the year. "We signed a woman this year" was often a response and in the end, the album was unsigned and ended up on a dusty shelf.
Nancy carried the reel to reel masters with her for the next 24 years while living in California for 16 years and back to Canada in 2003. Finally, the music business was wide open with all the Indie releases, now so easy to attain, and in 2009 the tracks were digitally mastered by Mark Stafford and mastered for manufacturing by David Bradstreet and voila, the band album surfaced at last!
