In 1979 a show at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art about Persia's gardens was cancelled due to the Islamic Revolution. 25 years later, in a (very slightly) more liberal climate, the show was restaged, with Iran's most prominent artists contributing their visions of verdant paradise and paradise lost. Filmmaker Bahman Kiarostami asked Nanos Operetta to compose a different piece for each work depicted in his documentary about the show. The ensuing works vary between busy cascades of sound, funky traditionalism, and lush elegies.
