Narissa Bond is a rare folk artist whose warmth
and wisdom captivate audiences through intimate,
honest storytelling. Narissa's graceful voice is like a
smooth stone. Her unique fingerpicking guitar style,
the flowing river. Narissa's melodies and harmonies
reflect their rich folk and jazz influences. Bond has won
numerous singer-songwriter awards and a first place
at the Winfield Oak Valley Music Festival. She was
one of the artists featured on Public Radio WHRV-FM
89.5 inaugural singer-songwriter concert. Bond has
also been a featured artist on "Sunrise in the Morning"
with Hunter Hughes on 106.1 Bob FM Radio. Narissa
has shared the stage with regional artists Stephen
Bennett, Ron Fetner, Molly O'Brian and Bob and Pam
Gurley. Narissa has opened for national recording
artists David Wilcox, Lucy Kaplansky, Vance Gilbert,
Richard Shindell, Alex Dobkins and Ulali.

"Narissa has set a new standard for the art of singing and songwriting...She instantly became a favorite of listeners...She is the real thing..."
Barry Graham, WHRV 89.5, Norfolk, VA

"Narissa Bond's music finds strength through contradiction. She crafts beautiful, reassuring songs out of life's most daunting pains. The key to the music's transcendence lies with her lithe vocals which handle tough subjects with uncommon delicacy."
Danny Alexander, Associate Editor of "Rock and Rap Confidential," Reviewer for the "Kansas City Star"

As with all of Narissa's works, I feel blessed to be in touch with my spirit through her work, with her spirit, and most importantly, with The Great Spirit-the Church of Souls and the Universe..It helps with my healing knowing other souls feel pain, loneliness, hope and inspiration...Thank You Narissa...Stay Blessed, Loved, Protected and filled with Healing Love and Light Always... The whole album is great, but her retelling of the Celia story is incredible. The tale of 'Celia, a Slave' (inspired by a book of that name) tells of Celia's tragic and short life. Narissa's interpretation of this story is a 'must listen' for it reflects the horrible life of this young slave girl in Callaway County Missouri in the 1850's. To anyone who can't understand the attrocities of slavery in this country, listen to this song and you might get just a small glimpse of the injustice of the time. . . three cheers and 5 stars.

  • Wistful...Sensual...Funky

Some people think that all chyks with guitars souund the same. Not so with Narissa Bond. Her voice is deep, sweet, and earthy, but she also has a light folkiness to her sound, complete with full band that maintains a soft, acoustic sound. "Waitress" is wistful and a little sad with longing, while "Send Her To Me" is funky and makes you want to move to the rhythm. Narissa is a treat to listen to, and perfect for folkheads and bluesters alike. www.cassEndrExavier.com
